As a Hong Kong–based professional multi-family office service brand, BIPPO Family Office, under BIPPO Advisory Group (HK) Limited, is composed of senior practitioners from the fields of cross-border legal, tax and trust services, financial and accounting management, and family succession planning. For nearly a decade, BIPPO has remained dedicated to providing flexible, pragmatic offshore family trust management services for high-net-worth clients across Mainland China and Hong Kong, with a deep understanding of the unique needs and wealth management goals of Chinese families.

IU, LAI & LI Solicitors & Notaries, a long-established Hong Kong Chinese law firm, enjoys an excellent reputation in areas including private wealth, family and matrimonial matters, real estate, corporate and commercial affairs, cross-border investments, and mergers and acquisitions. With more than four decades of experience in Hong Kong’s legal landscape, the firm has built extensive expertise in private wealth and estate inheritance, combining local and cross-border legal practice to provide comprehensive top-level wealth structuring advice for corporate shareholders.

The year 2023 marked a significant milestone for Hong Kong’s family office sector. On 22 March, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) issued the “Family Offices – Reference Guide to Licensing Requirements”, which clarified the regulatory framework and outlined the conditions under which family offices may be exempted from licensing requirements. Shortly after, on 24 March, the Hong Kong SAR Government released the “Policy Statement on Developing Family Office Businesses in Hong Kong”, announcing eight key policy measures designed to attract family offices and asset owners from around the world to establish a presence in the city. On 19 May, related tax concession legislation came into effect, granting profits tax exemptions to eligible Hong Kong family offices.

Riding on the strong policy momentum behind the government’s efforts to promote the family office industry, BIPPO Family Office seeks to harness this opportunity by drawing upon its extensive practical experience serving high-net-worth clients from Mainland China. By combining this expertise with a deep understanding of current market dynamics and client needs, BIPPO aims to leverage Hong Kong’s institutional advantages — in legal, tax, financial, and talent ecosystems — to provide effective, adaptive family wealth management solutions tailored to today’s evolving landscape.

The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement represents a key step in optimising the strategic alignment between the two firms, fostering complementary strengths and synergies. Together, BIPPO Family Office and IU, LAI & LI Solicitors & Notaries will continue to expand across the Greater China region, offering end-to-end family wealth services — from strategic planning to long-term management — and helping high-net-worth clients in Hong Kong and Mainland China achieve forward-looking and sustainable family wealth planning.
